Jardín y Pabellón Escénico Bosque de Chapultepec

2021, Ciudad de México

Jardín y Pabellón Escénico Bosque de Chapultepec is a cultural and landscape proposal recognized with second place in the Open Competition organized by the Ministry of the Environment of Mexico City. Conceived as an intervention to reintegrate this area of Chapultepec Forest into the public life of the city, the project is composed of paths and spaces for gathering that connect the existing landscape with the cultural activity of its surroundings.

The proposal presents an architecture that is inserted into the terrain and takes advantage of the site’s natural richness. The Scenic Pavilion is resolved beneath a constructed topography, freeing the surface landscape and generating slopes, plazas, pathways, and areas for gathering that function as an extension of the forest.

The program integrates a flexible scenic space, café, services, support areas, and gardens, allowing for different presentation formats: from indoor performances to open-air events. Through a network of nodes, walkways, and connections, the project seeks to activate encounters between visitors, artists, and the landscape.

The landscape strategy restores plant species, makes use of the site’s resources, and creates a public experience where art, nature, and the city are integrated into a single journey.
