As part of the public space projects developed by CCA in Acaponeta for INFONAVIT, Parque Los Llanitos is organized around a pedestrian perimeter edge, a vegetated boundary that absorbs the existing contour lines through a slope, and a central architectural program.
The project responds to the community’s need to cover an existing sports court. The roof structure spanning the courts is resolved through the use of arched roof systems, which create a stepped composition, provide durability, and allow for an efficient structural assembly.
Three arched roof systems are inserted into the project. Their arches vary in scale and radius, always concentrically, and are each composed from a single beam. The planting palette includes ficus trees to provide shade, pink and yellow tabebuias, as well as low groundcover vegetation such as dedo de moro and rocío. Finally, two tree-lined access plazas define the park’s entrances and create shaded resting areas.
