As part of the public space projects developed in Acaponeta for INFONAVIT, Parque Los Sandovales is based on the premise of constructing a sequence of edges: first, a perimeter edge; then, a tree-lined boundary; and finally, a core with an architectural program. Within a clear geometry, the intervention concentrates a concrete pavilion that provides shade, alongside a sports area composed of low groundcover vegetation and a soccer field. The perimeter edge is defined by a series of ficus trees that generate shade around the intervention.
Once the edges are defined, the pedestrian paths begin to rise, creating a sequence of steps that culminate in a tree-filled center within the concrete pavilion, which provides shade and areas for gathering. The pavilion is modular, allowing for efficient construction and a straightforward structural conception. The landscape proposal introduces new native trees at the center of the pavilion.
The intervention creates a vegetated space for rest and recreation, with children’s areas and shaded zones. The proposed steps generate an ascending and playful rhythm within the park. The project is a concise response to the required execution times, architectural program, and assigned budget.
